Dried beef heart is freeze-dried beef heart muscle tissue, finely ground and filled into capsules. In our product, the heart comes 100 % from organic pasture farming and makes up 80 % of the content; the remaining 20 % is organic liver. This makes an organ meat that hardly anyone prepares any more practical for everyday life: dried beef heart, neutral in taste and precisely dosed.
Which nutrients are in dried beef heart with liver?
- Vitamin B12: Heart and liver are among the most natural sources of B12. Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, to normal function of the nervous system and to normal red blood cell formation.
- Vitamin A (retinol): The organic liver adds natural vitamin A as retinol, not as beta-carotene. Vitamin A contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to the maintenance of normal skin and to the maintenance of normal vision.
- Copper: Copper contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to normal functioning of the nervous system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Taurine, carnitine and coenzyme Q10: Heart naturally contains these substances, embedded in its muscle tissue. Beef heart is one of the richest natural food sources of taurine and coenzyme Q10. They are part of the natural matrix, not added and not isolated.
All these nutrients are present in their natural food matrix, together with the co-factors they occur with in nature, in a form the body knows from food.
Why combine heart and liver?
The combination is deliberate. At 80 %, the heart forms the protein-rich base and contributes taurine, carnitine and coenzyme Q10. At 20 %, the liver adds its high density of vitamin A, vitamin B12 and copper. The result is an organ blend that covers more than either organ alone and is based on traditional nose-to-tail eating.
Beef heart in traditional cooking
Before fillet and mince took over everyday cooking, the whole animal was used. Beef heart was served as a stew or roast, and in Peru grilled beef heart skewers, anticuchos, are still a classic today. In taste, heart is closer to strong muscle meat than to typical organ meats. Our capsules bring back this almost forgotten food, without you having to prepare it yourself.
Why freeze-dried?
Freeze-drying removes the water from heart and liver at very low temperatures, without heating them. Unlike heat-dried heart, heat-sensitive nutrients are largely preserved. What remains is the concentrated nutrient density of fresh organ meats: long-lasting, neutral in smell and taste and precisely dosable.
Quality and purity from organic pasture farming
Our beef heart comes from Estonian organic pasture farming. The cattle are grass-fed and kept under organic guidelines. Each capsule contains only freeze-dried heart and liver, with no synthetic additives, anti-caking agents, fillers or colourings. As an EU organic product, the organs are subject to regular quality controls, and we also have them lab-tested for nutrients and purity (see lab analyses and certificates).
Who are beef heart capsules for?
Beef heart capsules are a natural alternative for anyone who prefers whole organs to many synthetic single-nutrient products. Many people include them in an active routine around training and sport, others as part of a nose-to-tail diet or simply because they do not want to prepare organ meats themselves. The capsules offer an easy way to take in natural vitamin B12 from real food.
