You want to have everything under control.
Every day planned out.
Every task checked off.
And yet, something still doesn’t feel right.
The problem isn’t your calendar.
The problem is the expectation that everything has to run perfectly.
This expectation creates constant stress.
And constant stress comes at a price.
Your body can’t distinguish between time pressure and real danger.
It releases stress hormones.
Cortisol and adrenaline levels rise.
In the short term, this is useful.
In the long term, these hormones slow down your metabolism.
They reduce thyroid function.
They disrupt energy production in your cells.
And they fuel silent inflammation.
You know the result.
Fatigue, poor sleep, no motivation.
The research shows this remarkably clearly.
In this study of 153 stressed adults, one group learned to accept the moment instead of fighting it.
This acceptance lowered the cortisol and blood pressure response to stress more significantly than simply observing or relying on coping tips alone.
Letting go helped.
So acceptance isn’t giving up.
Acceptance is physiology.
Let go
Because when you let go
- your cortisol levels drop
- your metabolism speeds up again
- your cells produce more energy
You don’t have to go meditate to do this.
It’s enough to let the plan be just a plan sometimes.
Leave the dishes where they are.
Allow yourself to take the detour.
And eat regularly and enough.
Because stable blood sugar lowers the stress load from within.
This is especially true for you if you achieve a lot.
For people who always keep functioning.
For everyone who confuses order with security.
Life isn’t a project plan.
It’s a living system.
And living systems need room to move.
Give yourself that room.
Your energy will return as soon as you stop fighting against yourself.
But you should still do the dishes eventually :)
